A few weeks ago Ecocash launched a Super App which intended to bundle all your spending and financial services in a single dashboard. It was a bold launch often characterising the whole Econet group approach which makes them the top digital services and technology brand, this new all-in-one digital ecosystem brings together payments, messaging, and lifestyle services under one roof. It is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, and it signals a defining moment not just for EcoCash, but for how Africans interact with money and technology. I have used the App for a few weeks now and it's safe to say it actually delivers though there is the chat or messaging feature, well maybe it's getting the final touch ups. A few months the country woke up to shocking news of proposed changes to the Zimbabwean constitution that would drastically change a lot of things, including taking away the power of people to vote for the President, extending term limits and a whole lot more. Because these changes affect every citizen, it’s important to understand them in simple terms, this is not the time to stand by and do nothing and to be clear this should go to a referendum so that everyone has a say. So let’s dive in.

If one thing has defined Zimbabwe, it's that people can start churches anywhere and no longer go to designated areas which has led to the emerging of churches in residential areas and some even contact evening services which is not a bad thing but a rather uncomfortable thing for those who live closeby and don't go to the same church. In a move to try and reduce noise and congestion in residential places, Government has ordered all churches operating in residential areas to install soundproofing and has imposed an immediate ban on the establishment of new fuel service stations in housing zones as part of a nationwide crackdown on urban disturbances. The Government has ordered all churches operating in residential areas to install soundproofing and has imposed an immediate ban on the establishment of new fuel service stations in housing zones as part of a nationwide crackdown on urban disturbances.

Social media has been flooded with reports that Zimbabwe has enacted a new cyber law to deal with the Cyber crime but POTRAZ has moved to dismiss those reports. Zimbabwe’s land is managed under a complex mix of constitutional provisions, statutes, and customary practice. The 2013 Constitution and various Acts of Parliament define three main categories of land tenure – freehold (private), leasehold (state-resettlement), and communal – and set rules for each. Importantly, communal land (former tribal trust land) is vested in the President, but used by rural communities under customary law. Chiefs and village heads may administer communal land locally, but they do not personally own it but the problem to this system is that most chiefs don't have the full grasp of the law as recently witnessed in the Chief Murinye incident, where he blocked the road to stop parents going for opening day demanding some kind of payment for the Riverton school built in his area.
